There is no public build to hand you today. The Rust core, the SwiftUI app and the mount in Finder all work — what is missing is the release engineering around them, and shipping a half-signed disk image would waste your afternoon rather than save it.

What installing will look like

Three steps, one of which macOS insists you do yourself.

  1. 1

Open the disk image and drag Mountit to Applications

Signed with our Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper opens it without a warning and without the right-click trick. Run it from Applications, not the disk image — an app running from a mounted DMG cannot register a file system extension.

  2. 2

Add a connection and mount it

There is nothing to switch on first. Mounts are served by Mountit's File Provider extension, which macOS activates on its own, so adding a connection and choosing Mount is the whole of it.

    ~/Library/CloudStorage

  3. 3

    Start the trial

The 14-day trial starts when that first mount appears — not when you open the app — so the days spent downloading and chasing credentials are not spent on it. No card, no account, no email.
